Tracking Hurricane Beryl
We have our first hurricane of the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season. HURRICANE BERYL is a category 1 storm with wind speeds around 75 mph. Right now, the storm is in favorable conditions for development. However, as this small, compact storm continues its track towards the Lesser Antilles, moving at about 15 mph, it is going to enter a hostile environment. It is likely going to be a tropical storm as it eyes the Lesser Antilles.
The National Hurricane Center says there is unusually high uncertainty with Beryl's forecast, due to its small size. The storm is likely going to weaken or dissipate by Monday. But, it could still bring gusty winds and heavy rain to the islands early next week. It is unlikely that Beryl will hold together and arrive in the Gulf.
