Saturday looks essentially like a washout with good scattered showers & storms most of the day. There is a small, marginal risk (1 out of 5) that these storms turn severe & produce brief damaging wind gusts & small hail. Fortunately, we do NOT need to worry about any tornadoes tomorrow. Temps should stay in the 70s for most of the day, topping out near 80°.
Expect Sunday to be a repeat of Saturday with even more chances of scattered showers & storms. Again, there’s a small chance of isolated severe storms, but a widespread outbreak appears unlikely. After sunset Sunday night is when a cold front should finally sweep through Alabama and we’ll start drying out.
The sun should be back out Monday afternoon and temperatures & humidity will be mild by May standards. Forecast lows Monday-Wednesday next week are in the 50s, daytime highs in the low 80s. The sun should be here to stay for most of next week as well…the only notable rain chances next week are Thursday & Friday at 20%.
