Get ready for a very summer-like pattern in Central Alabama. We’ll start to sound like a broken record here, but scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon with highs in the upper 80s and low 90s will be the rule of the forecast for the several days. We’ll be mostly dry today, but it looks like coverage of rain will be a little higher on Wednesday, with some of the storms we see packing strong winds and lots of lightning.
Another break in the action is set for Thursday. We could still see some showers and storms, but coverage will be much less than on Wednesday and temperatures will be just a bit warmer.
Better chances of rain are expected for Friday and the weekend ahead. We’re not calling for an absolute washout, but more in line with what we see for today and tomorrow; scattered showers and storms with temperatures on either side of 90 with some of the storms on the strong side.
