Tracking a thunderstorm moving into Tuscaloosa County with heavy rain and lightning. Not severe, but may be a little noisy as it moves through.
Thursday: WEATHER AWARE
There will be more storms tomorrow as a boundary slides south. This will trigger some morning rain in North Alabama. I won’t rule out an occasional morning shower in central Alabama, but it appears the greatest coverage will be during the afternoon hours. Many of the storms could pack a punch. It’s important to be prepared for intense rainfall, lots of lightning, and gusty winds.
Over the last week we’ve had trees blown on homes and a lightning strike to a home resulting in a fire.
These thunderstorms, even if not severe, must be taken seriously. That is why we have a weather aware in place, due to increased coverage and likely resulting in more people impacted by active weather tomorrow.
