Central AL Forecast: Hot and Dry for Alabama, Dorian for Florida/Carolinas

DORIAN: Now a Category 3 storm again. Winds at 115 mph. No taking aim on the Carolina coast. We will be tracking a cold front that will steer Dorian slightly off the coast. So, landfall is no guarantee, but the impacts will be felt from the rain, wind, and rising waters.

TONIGHT: We’ll continue to see a clear sky overnight tonight along with a light North breeze at around 5 miles per hour.  Temperatures will stay warm…lows expected in the low 70s.

TOMORROW: A dry cold front will pass through the area tomorrow morning, lowering the humidity during the afternoon and keeping the sunshine going.  After the front sweeps through, it will stay windy for the rest of the day…North breeze at 15 to 20 miles per hour.  It will still be hot in the afternoon…highs expected in the low 90s.

FRIDAY: COOL MORNING ahead for Friday!  The dry air should help lows Friday morning dip down to the lower 60s, possibly upper 50s farther North of Birmingham.  Be sure to wake up early and enjoy it! After sunrise, we’ll heat up pretty quickly with the dry air remaining the big weather story.  Highs Friday afternoon expected in the mid 90s.

THIS WEEKEND: NO CHANCE OF RAIN for the weekend!  All sunshine and more late-summer heat on tap.  Temperatures will be well above-average for early September…highs expected in the upper 90s for Saturday and Sunday.
