Central AL Forecast: Dry, cool weather ahead

Get ready for the last taste of spring (we think) before summer settles in. Temperatures will be well below average for the last couple of days of the work week. Today, highs will only reach the upper 70s and low 80 with plenty of sunshine this afternoon. Morning lows on Friday will sit mainly in the 50s, but a few spots in our northern counties may briefly touch the upper 40s. Highs Friday will rebound into the mid 80s. These cool temps will also be accompanied by low humidity, so go out and enjoy!

By Saturday, the heat and humidity starts to return. Highs will bounce back into the upper 80s and you’ll start to feel the stickiness of the air come back. This will be due to a high pressure area breaks down and flow returns from the Gulf of Mexico. This moisture will tap into some upper level energy and bring us chances of rain on Sunday.

Rain chances will stick around as we start next work week as well as the patterns stays in place. Not everyone will see rain, with the best chances from the Tennessee Valley down to I-20.
