Central AL Forecast: Flooding possible overnight, early Monday

It’s been another warm day to end the weekend. A cold front is nearing the area and this is going to bring an end to our taste of Spring. Later in the evening, as the cold front nears the area, coverage of showers and even a few thunderstorms will become more widespread across the area.

A line of storms is tracking through the area. While the severe weather threat is low, flooding and strong winds will be possible. Expect a wet morning commute on Monday.

Once the cold front moves through early Monday, our temperatures are going to get much cooler. While we will be in the low 60s in the morning, our temperatures will be falling through the afternoon and we will be back in the 40s by Tuesday morning.

This unsettled pattern is sticking around through Tuesday. An area of low pressure will develop to our south on Tuesday. This will make for another soggy day before finally clearing out on Wednesday. Temperatures will be cool on Tuesday and in the low 40s to start the day and only in the low 50s by the afternoon. The sky will clear on Wednesday and we will be back in the low 60s. Mid 60s on Thursday before turning slightly cool and in the upper 50s on Friday. There is uncertainty for the end of the forecast period. But, for now, it appears we will remain dry after Tuesday.
