Here is a look at where we’re seeing rain and where we’re seeing sunshine. Heavy rain moving through central Alabama. It’s the case of the haves and have nots. Some are dealing with flooding rain while others may be drying out.
A heavy line of rain still is moving south. Our western most counties are about the only ones not dealing with the rain tonight. Pick a point south of I-20 or along I-65 and you’ve seen rain, you’re getting rain, or you’re going to get rain.
Flash flood warnings in effect through 9pm for southern Jefferson Co and northern Shelby county.
For the remainder of tonight, this line of rain will move southeast.
Be careful on the roads tonight as most roads in the area have been impacted by rain today. Road conditions are slick across central Alabama.
Rainfall totals today have been between to 2″-4″. Locally heavy amounts near Vestavia Hills and Brighton.
These are radar indicated totals.
Although this heavy rain will swindle after the sun goes down, there will still be occasional showers overnight. Then, Tuesday will bring us more rain. Numerous showers and isolated storms likely again tomorrow. We won’t be out of the woods for a few days. These deluge events will be possible through tomorrow as well. Depending on where they happen determines the consequences.
Be prepared for downpours, altered driving conditions, and be ready for delays as a result of this inclement weather through Tuesday.
