BESSEMER, Ala. (WIAT) — Summer break is over, and now it’s time for the Bessemer City Middle School football team to go to work.
They call themselves the Tigers, and at this time next year they hope to call themselves champions, with a little help from One Team at a Time.
“We are very hungry we’re going to go out there, keep working how we did last year–we’re going to make it, we’re going to win this year,” coach Anthony Bester said.
Last season, the Tigers lost in the state championship game but know that hard work in the offseason will pay off.
“Anytime you can get the opportunity to get on the field of work and get better is always good,” said Leandre Crawford. “Good opportunity we are ready to get out here we are ready for the off-season and upcoming season and everything that comes with it.”
To get the guys geared up for practice, Nathan from Hibbett Sports dropped by with some new apparel and equipment.
