(WIAT) –People aren’t the only ones than can be troubled by fireworks, your pets may also be bothered by the noise.

Some pets are scared of the boom of the fireworks and can even act out in destructive behaviors.

Those behaviors can carry over to the next day, with an upset stomach or nausea.

William Lamb from Vulcan Park Animal Care shared what pet owners can do for their four-legged friends.

“Put them in a secluded part of the house. Think of where you would go in a storm, which is the most secured sheltered area which also the most quiet area,” said Lamb.

Lamb also recommends contacting your veterinarian and getting a sedative or anti-anxiety medication for your pets.
