MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) — Roy Moore, a former Alabama judge who lost a Senate bid to Democrat Doug Jones in 2017, announced his decision to run for U.S. Senate again in 2020 Thursday afternoon.
Moore made his anticipated announcement at 2 p.m. in Montgomery. Watch below.
Moore was defeated by current U.S. Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.) in 2017 after sexual misconduct allegations against Moore surfaced.
President Donald Trump and his son Donald Trump Jr. have both urged Moore against a 2020 campaign.
