LOUISA COUNTY, VA (WRIC & WIAT) — 10/31 UPDATE The nationwide Amber Alert for a missing 14-year-old Virginia girl has been canceled. Isabel Hicks has been found safe after going missing on October 21st.


Virginia Police say Isabel Hick’s mother’s ex-boyfriend, Bruce Lynch is now in custody and will be arraigned Friday morning.

Isabel was found safe and unharmed. Virginia Police will provide more updated details later today during an afternoon press conference.

10/30 UPDATE The search continues for missing 14-year-old Isabel Hicks. She is a Virginia teen that police say is considered to be in ‘extreme danger, and she is believed to be with her mother’s ex-boyfriend.

10/28 UPDATE- Virginia Officials say the search continues for 14-year-old Isabel Hicks after she was recently spotted.


During a press conference held by the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office in Virginia, investigators say the search has increased into dense woods for Bruce Lynch, Jr. the man who is the ex-boyfriend of Isabel and the man accused of taking the 14-year-old.

According to investigators, Hicks and Lynch were spotted at a home in Montpelier, Virginia. Lynch did not appear aggressive during the encounter and Isabel Hicks seemed to be unharmed

Once they were seen, they both took off into the woods after having some sort of an encounter with a citizen who then called 911.

Authorities say Lynch now has a shaven face. Both Isabel Hicks and Bruce Lynch are believed to be in dark-colored clothing or camouflage. Officials are asking hunters to check game cameras for any sightings.
Lynch and Hicks have not been seen since.

10/27 – A nationwide Amber Alert is in effect for a missing 14-year-old Virginia girl.

According to Virginia Police, 14-year-old Isabel Shae Hicks is believed to have been abducted by her mother’s ex-boyfriend and she is said to be in “extreme danger.”

Louisa County Officials in Virginia shared with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office in West Virginia that 14-year-old Isabel Hicks may be with 33-year-old Bruce Lynch.

Friday, October 25th, Virginia State Police issued an Amber Alert for Isabel Hicks. She was last seen on Monday, October 21st.

Deputies with Louisa County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for felony abduction as the child is believed to be in extreme danger and was last seen at her residence in Bumpass, Virginia.

Hicks is described as a 4-foot-11, 120-pound white female with blonde hair and blue eyes.

Authorities believe Hicks was abducted by 33-year-old Bruce Lynch, of Bumpass, who is described as a 5-foot-10, 190-pound white male with brown hair and brown eyes.

Authorities believe Lynch is armed with a 9MM and had recent suicidal ideations. They are possibly traveling in a 2003 Toyota Matrix, similar to the one pictured below, with the VA tag VEM-9071 and they could be anywhere at this point.

Federal investigators said the rear passenger door handle is missing on the car and it could have other Virginia tags, including UXW-3614, and/or a yellow “Don’t Tread on Me” tag 2499UT.
