Club Car Recalls Gas Golf and Transport Vehicles due to fire and burn hazards

(WIAT) – Before you head out to hit a few balls on the green, you may want to check your Golf cart out.

We have a recall alert to tell you about. Club Car is recalling Gas Golf and Transport vehicles due to fire and burn hazards.

According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the recall involves model year 2019 gas-powered Precedent, Tempo, Onward and Villager golf and transport vehicles, which are used for short-distance transportation.

Vehicles with the following model and serial numbers are included in the recall.

Serial numbers are located above and to the right of the accelerator pedal. The model number is the first two letters of the serial number.

Recalled Club Car Onward 2 Passenger

About 9,000 Golf carts that were manufactured by the company have been recalled. 2,000 were sold in Canada.

Recalled Club Car Precedent

The company says consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact Club Car to schedule a free repair.

Recalled Club Car Onward 6 Passenger

Club Car has received three reports of fuel leaks. No fires or injuries have been reported.

Club Car is contacting owners directly advising them of the recall.

Authorized Club Car dealers nationwide sold the Golf cars from August 2018 through July 2019 for between $7,000 and $11,000. Club Car is based out of Augusta, Georgia
