Flash flooding is possible with storms that are forming in east Alabama this morning and afternoon. Please be aware of these heavy downpours and avoid flooded roads.
We’ll have a couple of different weather systems contributing to a wet forecast for the next several days. As we close out the work week, numerous showers and storms will overspread the region with those that escape the rain feeling the scorching summer heat. Temperatures will sit in the low 90s for most with mid 90s in the hottest spots. With the humidity, we’re looking at 100 degree plus feels like temperatures.
More active weather is expected for this weekend, too. Nothing much changes in our pattern so expect similar coverage of showers and storms, with some in the morning and afternoon as well on both weekend days. Temperatures will be kept down in some spots by the rain and clouds in the morning, but generally look for temps in the upper 80s and low 90s for both Saturday and Sunday.
Next week looks a bit different than what we’re used to during the summer around here. A cold front will actually make it through the state by midweek. Monday and Tuesday, expect more widespread showers and storms with temperatures in the upper 80s. By Wednesday and Thursday, there’s a chance for some lower humidity and temperatures running at least five degrees below average. That’s if the front can sag all the way south of us. It’s possible, so keep your fingers crossed!
