Birmingham, Ala., (WIAT) — Carla Youngblood dealt with Cancer diagnosis by making people laugh. Youngblood was diagnosed with Breast Cancer in October 2015. Before the diagnosis, she felt a pain in her chest, went to the doctors office and was told to see a specialist. That’s when she found out the news. “It came back the Big C, Cancer,” says Youngblood.

But she did not let that defeat her. She mustered the faith to fight the diagnosis head on and found comedy as a way to cope.

Thursday night, Youngblood performed at the Boutwell Auditorium. It was a night of fun & laughter as she tells her story about the changes she has encountered in her life after experiencing breast cancer.

“Nobody wants to have their boobs cut off but you know what, they cut mine off and now I can get me something a little bit bigger,” Youngblood said jokingly.

Youngblood tells CBS 42 News she hopes to inspire others by telling her story.
