UPDATE: Practice rounds canceled Tuesday due to weather, and Shoal Creek is closed to the public. All tickets for Tuesday admission will be honored for Wednesday.
(WIAT) — As the first practice rounds kicked off at Shoal Creek for the US Women’s Open, the weather became the big topic of the day.
Heavy rain began early in the morning, and drops could be felt throughout the rest of the day. However it wasn’t enough to keep golfers from getting in practice rounds as they prepare for the 73rd U.S. Women’s Open Championship
“You know you have to get a feel for the course.” Said Golfer Anna Nordqvist “Know where you’re going to hit it and it’s always going to change but so far so good so fingers crossed we’re good with the weather this week.”
Practice round will continue on Tuesday, leading up to the start of competition on Thursday.
