Former Alabama & Auburn stars team up to fight ALS

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) - The ALS Association Alabama Chapter brought together more than a dozen former Alabama and Auburn football stars Thursday night for the fourth annual Changing The Game Awards Dinner and Fundraiser.

Bobby Humphrey, Marty Lyons, Cornelius Bennett, Trent Richardson and Blake Sims were just a few of the former players who helped make the event a night to remember.

Also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, the progressive neurodegenerative disease affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, preventing victims from controlling their bodies. Every 90 minutes someone is diagnosed with ALS, and every 90 minutes someone loses their battle to this fatal disease.
