Paul Ellen steps in for friend & colleague Rod Bramblett in Auburn Regional

Atlanta, Ga. (WIAT) — Paul Ellen didn’t expect to be working this weekend.

I intended on being here in the back of the booth as a fan if you want to know the truth Said Ellen It’s been very difficult

Less than a week after longtime Auburn Radio Announcer Rod Bramblett and his wife Paula were suddenly killed in a car accident, Auburn Baseball took the field in NCAA Regional play.

Someone had to take over the mic and call the game, Ellen stepped in to take over for his longtime colleague and friend.

The Auburn radio broadcast opened with a tribute to Bramblett, and before the national anthem, fans paused for a moment of silence.
