CBS 42 Two-A-Days: Ramsay Rams

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – For 36 years there was no football at Ramsay High School. That all changed a few years back. It might be hard to believe but the Rams are already gearing up for their sixth year of the program.

Time flies though when you’re having fun, and the Rams have had a lot of success to enjoy. They’ve recently had their first 10 win season and first playoffs appearance. But with the recent success there is one thing the Rams lose, the element of surprise. Ramsay can’t sneak up on anyone. Coach Rueben Nelson though says that, while they won’t fly under the radar, there is enough talent for the Rams to make some noise, “We have talent in spots, and we are hurting in other areas, and kids are working and they are just trying to get better…I think we are gonna have a chance to compete in every game, if we come out and do what we are supposed to do.”

Ramsay starts the season on August 26th against Pinson Valley.
