26-year-old man who died in tractor-trailer crash wasn’t wearing seat belt, ALEA says

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that a Mississippi man has died following a single-vehicle crash Thursday.

At approximately 7:07 a.m., the tractor-trailer 26-year-old Cortez Steen was driving overturned near mile marker 164 on Alabama 17 in Sumter County. Steen, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the trailer and pronounced dead on the scene.

Troopers with ALEA continue to investigate.
