Walker County resident rescues baby deer abandoned by mother

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Oh, deer!

A Walker County resident went the extra mile early Monday morning and rescued a baby deer who was left all alone.

According to a Walker County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post, the dear appeared to be dehydrated with badly infected eyes and apparently abandoned by its mother.

The individual and investigators from WCSO took the fawn to a local veterinarian who began healing the animal.

After treatment, a rehab center in Tuscaloosa County agreed to provide care for the baby deer.

The deer has now been given the name “Ella” and is expected to make a full recovery!
