Victim in deadly east Birmingham shooting identified

9:59 AM: The victim has been identified as 63-year-old Gregory C. Hrabowski. 

Birmingham Police are investigating the death of a man who was shot and killed Thursday night. 

Police responded to the scene in the 900 block of 52nd Place North on a call of a person shot. When officers arrived, they learned that a male victim had been shot and was suffering life-threatening injuries. Medics transported the victim to UAB Hospital where he later died from his injuries. 

Investigators received reports that a single gunshot could be heard outside of the location. The victim was discovered by an acquaintance on the porch of the location, according to Birmingham police. The person who found the victim called police while another person tried to help the victim. 

Investigators do not have a motive at this time.
