1 suspect arrested in deadly Grayson Valley shooting; second suspect identified

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE -5:25 p.m. – We have an update on the deadly Grayson Valley shooting investigation.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, detectives have arrested one suspect in connection to the shooting. The other suspect has been identified, and warrants for that person’s arrest are pending.

10:00 a.m- The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim of Thursday night’s homicide in the Grayson Valley area as 35-year-old Michael James Moore. Moore lived on the 5400 block of Nothinghill Drive.

A call came around 11:44 p.m. about a shooting. When police arrived at the scene, they found Moore inside his home suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Moore was pronounced dead at 12:10 a.m. Friday morning. A woman was also found inside the home suffering from an injury.

Police state that the suspect was in a white Ford or Mercury. If anyone has information about this case, they are encouraged to contact CrimeStoppers at 205-254-7777.
