United Airlines follows Southwest and American in grounding Boeing 737 flights

US and World

(WIAT) — More news this morning concerning Boeing’s 737 Max Jets — United Airlines has announced its extending its cancellations of all 737 Max flights through July. This follows similar moves by American and Southwest Airlines.

The FAA ordered all 737 Max planes grounded last month after two fatal crashes within 5 months killed 346 people.  United says it has used spare aircraft and other creative solutions since March to help minimize the impact on customers.

The company said it’s extending the cancelation to early July because “It’s harder to make those changes at the peak of the busy Summer travel season.”
