Lebanese company creates smart lighter to help smokers quit

US and World

LEBANON (WIAT) — A Lebanese start-up company is hoping this smart lighter will help smokers kick the habit. It’s called “Slighter Lighter“. It spends the first week getting to know the smoker’s schedule with an app that uses Bluetooth to collect data, which creates a plan to help a smoker quit.

It disables the flame and uses a countdown to when the smoker can light up again. When it’s time to smoke, it vibrates and makes noise to draw attention to the smoker.
