VIRGINIA – (CBS) Today is the 12th Anniversary of the Mass Shooting at Virginia Tech.
Thirty-two people died when Seung Hui Cho Opened fire on the campus on April 16, 2007.
The 23-year-old later took his own life. Twenty-seven students and 5 teachers were killed during the massacre. A wreath laying and moment of silence was held Thursday morning.
A number of exhibits and events honoring the victims, such as the annual Remembrance Blood Drive, took place on the campus.
Virginia Governor Ralph Northam has ordered flags to fly at half-staff until sunset.
