News

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) – A little over two months ago, UAB Football was wrapping up its first season since 2014 down in the Bahamas Bowl. Tuesday, Spring practice officially kicked off for the Blazers.

Players hit the field at 8 a.m. for the first day of Spring ball. Head Coach Bill Clark walked up and down the practice field, stopping periodically with each position group. The Blazers will conduct 15 Spring practices in total, with the 15th and final practice being a scrimmage at Legion Field. That’s the annual Green and Gold Game on April 7.

The Blazers know they won’t be overlooked in 2018 after last season’s 8-5 finish. The 2017 squad was predicted to finish last in Conference USA but ended up an impressive 6-2 in league play.

Tickets to the April 7th Spring Game are $5 and are now on sale. Parking will be general admission on the west side of Legion Field for $5 and lots open at 9 a.m. Blazer Walk is scheduled for 11 a.m., followed by gates opening at 11:30 a.m.
