UAB Football holds first Spring practice of 2019

BIRMINGHAM, Ala (UAB Athletics) — Looking to defend its 2018 Conference USA title, the UAB football team opened Spring practice on Tuesday morning at the Football Operations Center.

This was the first of 15 spring practices for the Blazers that culminates on April 6 with the Pepsi Spring Game at 1 p.m. UAB is coming off a record-setting season in which it finished with an overall mark of 11-3 and won its first ever league and bowl title.

Led by the backfield of quarterback Tyler Johnston III and running back Spencer Brown, the Blazers return four starters on offense and five on defense.
