Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club hosting first Smokin’ & Stokin’ BBQ Festival this Saturday

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — This Saturday, it’s all about family fun and bbq at the Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club’s first Smokin’ & Stokin’ BBQ Festival! That’s happening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Hall’s Motorsports parking lot.

Visitors will find fun for the kids, live entertainment from local musicians, food trucks, drinks, BBQ sampling, a corn hole tournament, and a big screen TV for all the college football kicking off on September 1st. Entertainment and kids activities are free. Admission to sample the BBQ is $5. 

Around 20 teams have entered the BBQ competition. Judges will taste test the Boston butts from 11 a.m. to noon and the public will have their chance to get a taste afterwards. You’re also invited to vote for the crowd favorite after sampling the food.

Parking will be available at First Baptist Church Trussville. Shuttles provided by YMCA Trussville will run to and from Hall’s Motorsports starting at 11 a.m.

Sponsors for the event include Hall’s Motorsports Trussville, the City of Trussville, Birmingham Coca-Cola, Civil Consultants, Inc., First Community Mortgage and others. Smokin’ & Stokin’ also serves as a fundraiser for the Trussville Rotary Daybreak Club. Proceeds will help fund the group’s projects, including scholarships, leadership opportunities for local high school students, books for local elementary school students, and more.
