Midfield man killed after car crashes into train in Birmingham

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office have identified the man who was injured after crashing into a train Monday night.

David Eugene Hester, 65 of Midfield, was driving on Pearson Avenue SW at 15th Street SW in Birmingham when he struck a freight train.

ORIGINAL: The Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service transported a man who was injured after a car crashed into a train Monday night.

According to BFRS, the man was taken to a local hospital with undisclosed injuries. The cause of the crash is unknown at this time.
