Three arrested in Hoover Robbery Investigation

HOOVER, Ala. (WIAT) – Wednesday, Hoover Police and Fire responded to a report of an assault victim a little bit before 7 a.m. Officers say when they arrived at the scene they found a victim had been assaulted and had his vehicle stolen at Cypress Gardens Apartments located on Carousel Court.

According to authorities, the victim stated he encountered the suspects standing outside of McDonald’s on Montgomery Highway.

One of the men asked him for a ride to Cypress Gardens and the victim agreed. When they arrived, the suspects began assaulting the victim and forced him out of his vehicle.


Police say two suspects fled on foot and the third drove away in the victim’s vehicle.

Officers in the area located two of the suspects inside of Chick-fil-a at Hoover Commons and took them into custody.


The third suspect was arrested and the victim’s vehicle was recovered Wednesday at 4:25 P.M. by Pelham Police Department at the Budgetel Inn and Suites on Montgomery Highway.

The victim was taken to UAB hospital by ambulance where he was treated and released.

Police arrested Xavier Thompson, 20 of Hoover, has a $40,000 bond. Keith Mburu, 18, of Hoover, has a $15,000 bond. And Daxton Keith, 18, of Alabaster, has a $30,000 bond.

All three suspects were transferred from the Hoover City Jail to the Jefferson County Jail Wednesday and are facing Roberry 1st Degree charges.
