Sylacauga Police take suspect into custody in robbery case

Sylacauga Police have taken a suspect into custody in a robbery that occurred last Saturday, according to a release from the department. 

Police responded to a robbery in the parking lot of the Walmart on Highway 280, where the victim told police she was sitting in her vehicle when a man approached her on foot with a gun demanding money, according to the release. The suspect then reportedly reached into the vehicle before taking an undetermined amount of money. 

After an investigation, police identified 40-year-old Monroe Lamar Kilgore of Childersburg as a suspect in the case. Kilgore was arrested on Thursday on a charge of Robbery 1st Degree and transported to Talladega County Jail where he awaits trial on a $5,000 bond.
