Suspect in custody after man shot to death at Calera car wash

CALERA, Ala. (WIAT) — Police say they have a suspect in custody after a shooting at the Kirksey Car Wash on Saturday afternoon.

Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley says 57-year-old Prince Johnson was shot once in the torso with a handgun on Saturday around 3:15 p.m. at Kirksey Car Wash, located in the 1300 block of 1th Ave.

Lemley said the suspect, 27-year-old Detorius Lamar Kirksey of Montevallo, is in custody pending charges.

The case remains under investigation. This story will be updated when officials release more information.
