Suspect charged with capital murder in Oaks at Springville shooting

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham police say a suspect in the Aug. 9 murder of 21-year-old Calvin Foster has been arrested and charged.

Police say 35-year-old John Nealy has been charged with capital murder in Foster’s shooting death.

Foster was reportedly shot about five or six times in the parking lot of the Oaks at Springville apartment complex that afternoon just after 5 p.m. His mother found out he was shot on Facebook, and rushed to the scene, where police notified her of her son’s passing.
