Study: nasal sprays provide just as much protection as flu shots

(WIAT) — A new study finds nasal sprays provide children just as much protection against influenza as standard flu shots.

The findings from McMaster University in Canada challenge the CDC’s recent recommendation not to use the nasal spray after other studies found the spray to be ineffective.

Canadian researchers say their results come from a 3-year randomized trial involving about 1,200 children.
