BIRMINGHAM, ALA (WIAT)- A clergy is remembering a 58-Year-old deacon after police said he was killed in a shooting in Ensley.
Investigators said Friday morning neighbors reported hearing multiple gun shots outside Ricky Parker’s home on 46th street Ensley. A neighbor later found Parker in his backyard where he was pronounced deceased on scene.
Parker was a member of 45th street Baptist church in East lake. He served as a deacon, church administrator, and sung in the choir.
“He worked with all of our young folk. He worked with all of our ministries, and loved to sing, he was in every choir, his passing has left a hole in our church that won’t be easily filled,” said Senior Pastor Andra Sparks.
