BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Thanksgiving weekend is always one of the biggest shopping weekends of the year, and it wraps up today with Cyber Monday.
Some shoppers look forward to the opportunity to shop online after waiting in line last week. Cyber Monday gives them the chance to find deals online and shop at their own convenience instead of going to stores.
“Cyber Monday is a lot easier for me because, first of all, you don’t have to worry about things running out for the most part,” Brooke Bradley said while shopping on Black Friday. “And you can pretty much do it from anywhere. You don’t have to get out and about. And it’s just easier and more options, too.”
Bradley was frustrated after missing out on a deal despite standing in a long line Friday morning.
“I’m not a morning person at all,” she said. “So yeah, that was a bummer for me.”
But other shoppers say they prefer Black Friday because they enjoy the experience of getting out and shopping. No matter how they shop, it’s a busy weekend.
The National Retail Federation said last week that 164-million people planned to do some form of shopping between Black Friday and Cyber Monday.
