Boater’s body found in Blue Springs area of Lay Lake

COOSA COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Update (7/8): ALEA Marine Patrol confirms the body of 25-year-old James Patton Hill, of Wilsonville, was recovered Monday morning. Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies assisted in the search.

Original: Officials are searching for a man last seen on his boat on Lay Lake.

Authorities are searching for 25-year-old James Patton Hill. He was on his boat when the Sunday afternoon storm blew him off. Witnesses tell officials he was last seen swimming after his boat, Trooper Steven McElroy tells CBS 42.

The search is still underway.
