BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — The Greater Birmingham Humane Society is asking for your help with medical bills for a dog shot in a drive-by shooting. According to a post on the humane society’s Facebook page, this bulldog puppy named Bruce was caught in the crossfire. In the post, they say they do not have all the funds needed for the medical bills. Bruce needs a pin or possibly a plate to save his leg. The humane society estimates it will cost at least $3,000 for the surgery.
Allison Black Cornelius, CEO of Greater Birmingham Humane Society, said, “[The leg] is stabilized, the dog is stabilized, it’s not in pain, but we need to get that pin in to stabilize that leg and save this leg. So thank you as always to our supporters and all the people who care about these sweet animals, and um please give if it’s on your heart to do so, thank you.”
If you would like to help out – you can donate on the humane society’s website.
