Prosecutors claim youth evangelist accused of sexual assault texted, emailed victim from jail

ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — Prosecutors are asking an Etowah County judge to limit the communications of the accused evangelist of sexually abusing teenagers.

Acton Bowen, the evangelist who was arrested on multiple sexual assaults charges, was arrested back in April of 2018.

Prosecutors claim Bowen texted and emailed at least one victim from jail. Prosecutors want the judge to limit Bowen’s communications only to immediate family and his defense team.

Seven people in Alabama claim they were sexually abused by Bowen.
