Possible changes to Alabama lottery bill

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WIAT) — A bill that would allow a paper-only lottery in Alabama faces an uncertain outlook as it heads to the house. House members are hoping to make changes to the bill, which recently cleared the Senate.

They’re expected to ask that money from the lottery go into the general fund and education budget or allow electronic gambling. Senator Greg Albritton, the bill’s sponsor, is concerned any changes will disrupt the fragile coalition of 21 votes that approved the bill in the Senate.
