BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in relation to violent threats made towards Calera schools, per a release from the Calera Police Department.
According to Calera Police Chief Sean Lemley, the suspect is from the Calera area, but no name is currently being released due to his juvenile status. Threats of a possible shooting at the schools circulated on social media early Thursday.
The case is still undergoing investigation, but authorities do not have any information that leads them to believe Calera schools are in any danger at this time.
