ORIGINAL: Jefferson County sheriff deputies are investigating the death of a woman found dead in her home and arrested the husband in connection to the wife’s murder.
Just after 5 a.m., deputies were called to a home in the 4000 block of Ruff Road to conduct a death investigation. A man reported that he found his wife unresponsive on the floor of the bathroom.
Upon arrival, deputies found the 43-year-old woman dead on the scene.
Information collected from the scene shows that the woman was beaten to death, according to the sheriff’s office. The husband of the victim remained on scene and was found to have blood on his clothing. He was questioned by detectives, but offered no explanation for the injuries to the victim or the blood found throughout the home, as stated in the release.
Deputies took the husband into custody and transported to the Jefferson County Jail to await formal charges.
At this time Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office are not releasing the suspect or victim’s name pending charges and notification of family.
