PICKENSVILLE, Ala. (WIAT) — The town clerk of Pickensville was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing public funds.
44-year-old Sidra Simpson was charged with one count of violating Alabama ethics laws.
Simpson has been the Pickensvilletown clerk for the past 10 years. She also served as a magistrate and court clerk.
Authorities have not released the amount was stolen by Simpson.
She is currently being held at the Pickens County Jail on a $20,000 bond.
No other information has been released at this time.
