BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — It’s time to shop (and save!) for a good cause! The Junior League of Birmingham is back with its 13th annual Shop Save & Share fundraiser!

Shop Save & Share allows you to visit more than 550 participating businesses and get great discounts on merchandise, food and services — all while helping the community as a whole! The initiative supports over 30 community projects the League is part of while also driving customers to local retailers and restaurants.

When you purchase a Shop Save & Share card or app for $40, you receive a 20% discount on merchandise and food at over 550 locations. Since the initiative started, the Junior League has been able to put over $650,000 back into the Birmingham metro area.

While it’s the 13th year for Shop Save & Share, this marks the second year for Junior League of Birmingham’s partnership with Planet Fundraiser. The free app allows shoppers to buy a digital Shop Save & Share card that can be conveniently downloaded and used at supporting merchants from within the Planet Fundraiser app.

Also new this year, over 120 retailers have been added to the always growing list! Shop Save & Share will partner with stores and attractions like Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe, City Bowls, Bridal Bliss, and Liz Lane Gallery for the first time.

The fun of Shop Save & Share will officially begin October 17th with a Kick Off Party at the Kendra Scott Terrace at The Summit. You can enjoy an evening of drinks, light bites, music, door prizes and 20% at many Summit retailers. The party starts at 6 p.m. next Wednesday.

This year’s Shop Save & Share will be held from October 17th through October 28th. You can purchase and download your card here or text ‘SSS’ 205-660-0030. For a full list of participating retailers, click here

Cards are $40 and help provide necessities for four survivors of sexual violence through the Crisis Center of Birmingham. It can also provide 10 meals for homeless women and children through Pathways, provide diapers for one child in need for a month through the Junior League’s Diaper Bank and provide a tank of gas for the Yummy Truck, Junior League’s mobile teaching kitchen.
