One dead after shooting in East Birmingham Monday afternoon


BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Birmingham police are investigating a shooting on 47th Place North. 

Police confirmed 27-year-old Carl Dominick Beasley died after sustaining gunshot wounds in a shooting on Monday afternoon. Around 3 p.m., police responded to a shooting incident in the 900 block of 47th Place North.

Officers report when they arrived Beasley was located lying in the driveway unresponsive. The other man was transported to UAB Hospital with life-threatening injuries for treatment. According to reports, he is expected to recover from his injury. 

At this time, no suspects are in custody.
