New campaign ‘Show up for Shabbat’ launches after 11 killed in Pittsburgh


U.S. (WIAT) — A new campaign is calling for all Americans to visit synagogues this weekend to fight anti-Semitism.

‘Show up for Shabbat’ was launched by the American Jewish committee after 11 people were killed Saturday at eh Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh, Penn. The Jewish tradition of Shabbat is observed from sunset Friday to sunset Saturday.

Rituals include worship, prayer, family gatherings and festive meals.
