(CNN) – History in the making! Two Astronauts are installing a docking port on the International Space Station that will soon make future travel there easier.
NASA Engineers Nick Hague and Andrew Morgan are doing the work outside the ISS on a spacewalk expected to last more than 6 hours.

The International Docking adapter they are installing provides a second port for Commerical spacecraft from Boeing and Space X to dock with the Space Station.
Then those rockets will allow astronauts to once again reach the ISS in craft launched from U.S. Soil.
That is expected to give astronauts more time aboard the space station to conduct research that will support future trips to the moon and mars.
