Mayor Randall Woodfin signs ordinance allowing alcohol sales at 10 a.m. on Sunday

Mayor Randall Woodfin has signed a council-passed ordinance into law that allows businesses in Birmingham to being selling alcohol earlier, according to Chanda Temple with the mayor’s office.

The ordinance was signed into law on Tuesday, published on Thursday, and is set to take immediate effect, according to the mayor’s office. The ordinance only affects alcohol being sold in restaurants, and not alcohol being sold in stores.

Restaurant patrons will be able to drink earlier starting this Sunday, April 15.
