Mayor Randall Woodfin says “violent crime” should be declared a public health crisis

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., (WIAT) — Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin said during his State of the Community address Monday that his “soul was shaken to its very core” after learning of the shooting that claimed one officer’s life and critcally injured another. Woodfin said violent crime in the city “has to be declared a public health crisis.”
